Shop Rag Issue 14 — THS-1 Trailhead Workstation Preview
We at Park Tool understand that not all new riders outfit themselves with tools as they get started in the sport or head out for a ride. We’ve also seen a rise in municipal infrastructure dedicated to the activity of cycling.
Our newest product, the THS-1 Trail Head Station was designed to create a multi-function maintenance station to serve riders of all abilities. A rock solid, weather-resistant stand and tools to perform most adjustments and some basic repairs along a trail or just about any other public area. The THS-1 can be mounted to a wall or flat surface or can be made free standing by mounting to the optional THP-1 mounting post or any existing post. The THP-1 can be mounted directly into concrete or bolted to our #130 base plate for portable applications. The THS-1 also creates a compact, versatile work area outside a bike shop, school, business, or in an apartment building — anywhere emergency repairs or adjustments need to be made.
When we designed and built the THS-1 we took special care to treat the stand and tools with weather resistant coatings to ensure a long life in harsh elements. The stand is heavily plated with a resilient coating then powder coated in our world famous Park Tool blue color. Each carefully chosen tool is double coated with plating and vinyl to resist salt, UV rays, heat, and cold then tethered directly to the stand using corrosion resistant, vinyl coated cables. Finally, the station is finished with three tamper proof fasteners that together provide a rigid box to house the tools and support arms.

2018 Community Tool Grant
