Shop Rag Issue 11 — What Shops Have to Say About the TS-4

Park Tool Shop Rag header

We wanted to get some feedback on the new TS-4 Fat Bike Truing Stand from professionals that use them in the field every day. We paid a visit to Art Doyle’s Spokes and Pedals, an iconic bike shop in Hudson, WI, just over the border from St. Paul, MN. We talked with Eric and Truman to get their opinions on the TS-4, how it functions and how it has changed their service center. Art Doyle’s Spokes and Pedals received three TS-4 Truing Stands shortly after they became available so the staff there has spent some quality time with the stand. Watch the video to see what they had to say.

The QBP Women’s Bicycle Mechanic Scholarship, in its second year, is a joint effort of Quality Bicycle Products and their bike industry partners to advance specialty retailers through the education and training of women in the bike industry. The scholarship fits well with Park Tool’s mission to educate and support bicycle mechanics throughout the industry. This scholarship aims to keep and encourage talented women working in the bike industry, and to better serve and grow women ridership.

The scholarship covers lodging and tuition to UBI’s two-week Professional Shop Repair and Operations class, and upon completion of the course, the recipients will receive a small stipend to help defray the personal expenses of travel and meals. Park Tool also provides each scholarship recipient with a customized tool kit to give them a solid foundation of tools for their professional development as bicycle mechanics.
